About Sagar Joshi

Sagar is a Mechanical Engineer and Product Designer with extensive experience in various furniture and medical design projects. He possesses a strong knowledge of manufacturing processes such as plastic injection molding, plastic roto-molding, sheet metal processing, etc. Additionally, he is proficient in 3D modelling and rendering software including Rhino, Solidworks, Fusion 360, Keyshot, Adobe Photoshop, etc.As a Design Manager at a major Indian brand, he led a team of engineers through multiple end-to-end projects, encompassing all phases from product research and strategy to design, prototyping and market launch. Additionally, he conducted extensive country-wide user research to decode the preferences of Indian customers regarding color, material, and finishes in the furniture product market.Outside of his professional roles, he took on various freelance projects, including designing a medical device for Life Kshell Medical Products in Mumbai, sheet metal products for Wisdom Future Tech in Mumbai, and plastic roto-molding products for Kuse Design Studio in Delhi.During his educational journey at UID and now at MIT Institute of Design, he has developed his interpersonal skills and leadership abilities, by collaborating on numerous projects with students. He has guided many of these projects to a market-ready stage, with many students opting to transform their projects into start-ups supported by university-run Incubation centers.
