Sergio Garcia GomezWith 27 years of professional experience in business and government across the Americas, Sergio provides strategic advisory to private companies and business associations, on trade and investment decisions. He is based in Washington, D.C. since 2013 and serves as Senior Advisor to the US-Mexico Chamber of Commerce since 2019.Between 2014-2019 he served as Head of Economic Affairs at the Embassy of Mexico in the United States, where he reported directly to six Mexican Ambassadors on all areas of the bilateral economic relation. In this position, he developed active consultation with an extensive range of US-MX government officials, business executives and diplomats.Previously, he served as Vice President for Fleet Planning and Financial Restructuring at Grupo Aerolineas Argentinas (2009-2013) where he participated in the implementation of the new business plan. He was directly responsible for negotiations with IATA, financial institutions, OEMs, MROs and aircraft leasing companies for the airline’s full fleet renovation.On a previous position (2004-2008), he was Vice President of Financial Asset Restructuring for Thesis Consulting. There, he participated in the winning bid for the administration of assets valued USD $1 Billion from four Uruguayan banks and he was responsible - in Argentina and Uruguay - for the negotiation and restructuring of over $300 million under the rules established by the Central Bank of Uruguay.In Argentina, he worked for a leading private energy consulting firm in finance and energy regulation (2001-2004).Between 1995 and 2000, he served at the Mexican Ministries of Finance, Energy and Foreign Relations in Mexico, France and the UK (1995-2000).Sergio Garcia Gomez holds an MSc of Science in Economic History (1999-2000) from the London School of Economics and Political Science. He obtained his Bachelor’s degree in Economics from Instituto Tecnologico Autonomo de Mexico (1992-1996).
