In 2005 I started life in the world of work at the ripe age or 17, instantly loving the thrill of the chase and helping people find better deals on their mobile contacts. With my adaptable nature, I did well in my part-time call centre job so I acquired a Video iPod (making me the envy of my sixth-form peers). I had a strange collection of music then ranging from hip-hop tunes to songs by culture club.My real passion back then was Art and design, that changed once I finished my A-levels and started a career in Finance. Leading me to an AAT course whist working at Suffolk Life Pensions, this was my first full time role. After 3 years I realised my passion for number crunching wasn't as strong as my desire to solve problems, leading me to a degree in Business with the aim to be a more rounded individual and work out what I want to do in life.Student life was fun eating cereal for dinner and leftover over pizza for breakfast. I achieved a 2:1 upper second-class honours degree at Kingston this was my biggest achievement at that time.Uni was expensive so I worked part-time, having success in market research allowing me to buy more cereal and Pizza. Being promoted to work on technical research projects gave me exposure to brand research for Google, Facebook and IBM. Working with international business leaders boosted my comms skills when speaking to CEOs, Heads of technology and top business leaders. Once it all got too much commuting to London Bridge from Kingston Upon Thames, I move back home (Ipswich) in search of a graduate job. After 3 months of daily apps I struggled to land a graduate job but was offered a role at TDP Agency where I worked for 9 years. The role was demanding and the culture was different to what I'd been used to. I was promoted to Head of Business Development and managed experienced BDMs. The fast-paced world of database marketing and lead gen matched my drive to succeed. Helping clients achieve their goals with complex data needs was rewarding; During my time I'd got my foot on the property ladder and started a family - my biggest achievements to date. At TDP I enjoyed sharing knowledge with clients, the consultative work appealed to my accommodating nature and gave me a nice warm fuzzy feeling inside. The role exposed me to challenges leaders faced (kudos to company Leaders as it's by no means a walk in the park). This is my 3rd (proper) job at DHQ, still learning and trying to do things I enjoy the most, helping people solve their marketing problems. With the hope it will impact our lives and our economy positively.
