• Analyzed operational and strategic data of companies and their peers to identify problem areas and provide recommendations relating to the existing product portfolios and cash flow optimization. These companies were sought after as potential investments by our clients• A company in rubber and plastics product-manufacturing sector had a cash to current liabilities ratio of .06 compared to the industry average of 0.21. The receivables collection period was 71 compared to 55 days average amongst its peers. Used this information to identify that the company had a problem with cash flow optimization majorly due to long standing account receivables and recommended that the company should work with its clients to get faster payments on its sales.• Analyzed the company’s debt to equity ratio which was much higher (4.5) when compared to all its peers (less than 1). This was leading to higher interest cost which were eating into the company profits. Hence recommended an alteration in its capital structure. • Analyzed company’s client data and found out it had more number of major clients (10) than its peers (2-3) and all in Europe, a recession affected area. This strained the operating model of the company and also negatively impacted the receivables. Used this insight to recommend that the company should reduce its number of clients if possible and diversify its product base into high volume low cost products like packaging material which is not strongly affected by economic recession.
