I have practiced law for more than 20 years and regularly represent and counsel clients through complex civil litigation in state and federal courts. I also help clients solve their business problems before they turn into litigation. I have represented clients in the healthcare industry, financial services industry and others.I have tried cases involving breach of contract, partnership and LLC disputes, restrictive covenants, misappropriation, violation of the Uniform Trade Secrets Act and tortious interference with contract. I also have significant experience in obtaining and defending against injunctions and Rule 65 temporary restraining orders.I regularly appear as counsel in arbitrations before the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority on claims surrounding restrictive covenants, breach of contract, interference with contractual relations, unfair competition, raiding, suitability of investments and breach of fiduciary duty.SuperLawyers recognized me as a Mid-South Rising Star, 2010-2014. I currently serve on the Advisory Committee on Rules for the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit. I served as Chairman of Nashville Metropolitan Government's Transportation Licensing Commission from 2013 to 2024 after having served as a commissioner from 2011 to 2013. I served as Secretary to the Board of the Nashville Bar Association in 2019. I served as co-chair of the Nashville Bar Association's Federal Courts Committee from 2016 through 2018. My peers have recognized me as a Fellow of the Nashville Bar Foundation.
