Profile bio

About Sally Bauer

I am an experienced leader who enjoys working with teams to accomplish impactful goals. Over my career, I have demonstrated my ability to build collaborative relationships that further organizational goals. My strategic thinking paired with my detail orientation have enabled me to innovate and execute effective programs and strategic plans. My entire career has focused on mission driven work. I began in program management in higher education before pivoting to grassroots neighborhood organizing. As Executive Director of the Tangletown Neighborhood Association, I built my skills in urban and transportation planning, stakeholder engagement, communications, and grants management. After 5 years of work at the local level, I was ready to shift into higher level systems and policy work. I worked on the public affairs team at Fresh Energy, a clean energy nonprofit, during the most impactful legislative session for clean energy in Minnesota’s history. Working for this both innovative and pragmatic organization, I strengthened my knowledge base in the legislative process, state government, and clean energy. At the Minnesota Department of Commerce, I built out an energy storage incentive program. This included significant stakeholder engagement to develop an effective program while meeting statutory requirements. In the face of complicated political dynamics, I successfully advocated for equity measures including a Low Income Pilot Program and Tribal Carve Out. I'm now looking for a long term mission driven position back in the nonprofit or local government level.

Listed skills include Event Planning, Higher Education, Student Affairs, Leadership, and 11 others.
