I developed the fundraiser Run For Laos where I ran The Great Wall of China Marathon on May 15, 2016 to fund the construction of a water tank in the community Sop Chem which I visited in 2015 whilst working for GIVE. I crowd funded a total of $10,870 to pay for the project. The water tank was built out of 4,000 repurposed plastic bottles packed with sand and used as bricks with over 6,000m of piping through dense jungle to a local water source. The community of more then 300 dedicated locals stepped up and took ownership of the project combined with over 100 volunteers who worked for 3 months to build the 20,000L water tank. This fundraiser has taught me countless lessons in perseverance and love and helped me to develop skills in website building, fundraiser organisation, planning and goal setting.
