In this role I reviewed candidates for tutor, group instructor, and educator roles as independent contractors by conducting interviews and helping to facilitate the onboarding process on Varsity Tutors platform. In addition to sourcing, one of my main functions was to streamline research projects by gathering external data in an effort to support tutor sourcing goals and drive results. As a former educator, I was able to maintain deep understanding of best practices for sourcing and recruiting in order to introduce processes for new staff and function as mentor and instructor for incoming specialists.

In my Physical Education and Health Coach role, I created and implemented health and physical fitness education in classroom setting following mandates recommended by the state of Texas. This implementation included analyzing student progress and participation and grading students accordingly, communicating with parents and guardians of students through multiple outlets to discuss student issues as per request or need, and also creating original video content during COVID. Additionally, I served on the leadership team as representative of specialist team and connection to administration and as team lead to help develop team strengths, monitor goals, and delegate responsibilities and initiatives.

At the TCEQ I communicated the technical, legal, and administrative requirements for water rights permitting changes of ownership and settled water rights changes of ownership issues for applicants, agency staff, consulting engineers, attorneys, and the public through verbal, written, and electronic correspondence. Coordinating the flow of files through the permitting process by composing drafts and final memos and through customer service in accordance with the state rules, policies, and guidelines for surface water rights was a continual part of my position. I also engaged in assignments that included the review and/or research of water rights files, water use reports, records, maps, land surveys, and other legal documents to resolve unverified ownership of water rights while extracting data through multiple software and research venues.

My main role as a teacher was to provide instruction to students using instructional strategies such as direct instruction, inquiry method, labs, and experiential learning in predominantly outdoor settings. Frequently, I assisted with curriculum development, lesson planning research, and activity preparation while promoting positive, culturally-appropriate interactions among student groups. After two years I was promoted to a leadership position; in this role I supervised teachers and provided continuous feedback as well as mid-year and end-of-year comprehensive employment assessment reports and scores to enhance professional development.

During my spring semester internship, I advanced the mission of our environmental coalition by organizing meetings, formulating documents, and maintaining online updates through the web and social media. I also instituted a research project regarding environmental education initiatives policies nationwide. As a capstone project, I managed outreach for a signature outdoors event by coordinating registration of over 250 families and collaborated with local organizations to assemble event activities and entertainment.
