The Monash University and Victorian Pro Bono Bar Project (the Open Justice Project) is a collaboration between the Victorian Bar and Monash Faculty of Law that allows students to assist barristers at the Victorian Bar in pro bono matters. Participants attend ten seminars focused on a range of current social justice issues and have to present on one of the seminars. Participants enhance their leadership and collaboration skills by undertaking a group project throughout the entire program, the winner or which will be awarded a bursary to support the continued improvement and completion of their project. Our group project was awarded the bursary, which partnered with the Human Rights Law Centre's Migration Justice team to ensure students can support their team with research tasks. Show less
