Library Assistant
Currenthave been in an part of the Customer Services team at the Hutt City Libraries since October 2018, and an area that I take particular pride in is building and facilitating effective relationships with community. The set up at the different sites that I have been able to be a part of has allowed me to build relationships with local community groups, whānau, users of the library, and the other arms of the Hutt City Council. These relationships provide feedback that in turn help inform my service and program delivery. It also means that I am more able to anticipate the needs of the community, even as the needs change. The role also allows me to generate interest in the Library's collection, resources and programs with continuous community engagement and visual displays, undertake administrative services, including processing items and communicating on behalf of the Library and importantly remain flexible to deliver to and serve different demographics across different sites.
