Perform work on special assignments related to institutional policy development, financial modeling, and strategic planning.• Direct a community-wide, all-hazards emergency preparedness program that addresses hazard mitigation, business continuity/continuity of operations, public information and warning, emergency response and recovery, and community outreach and education. • Serve as Incident Commander and/or EOC Manager for planned and emergent campus incidents and events including hurricanes, winter storms, power outages, public health emergencies, civil disturbances, sporting events, concerts, and other campus activities.• Oversee the Department’s health and life safety divisions including Fire and Life Safety, Environmental Health and Safety, and Alarm Services; Work with the heads of these divisions to ensure the University meets or exceeds applicable state and federal laws, codes, and regulations while promoting a community-wide “culture of safety.”• Manage administrative aspects of all Public Safety divisions, including University Police and Transportation and Parking Services, with a combined annual budget of $12 million and 80+ personnel; Develop and maintain a five-year department-wide strategic plan based on input from the Director and all division heads.
