Represented DHS/CBP in negotiations with the Egyptian Government, coordinated DHS/CBP programs and initiatives, and provided training and technical assistance on border security, and passengers and trade facilitation. During the Arab Spring in 2011, assisted with the evacuation of thousands of U.S. citizens from Egypt, while simultaneously conducting document checks, maintaining crowd control, and working closely with the Embassy components. Led major port assessment to identify Egypt’s vision for port modernization. Delivered recommendation to the Ambassador, numerous government agencies, and the White House emphasizing a layered enforcement strategy, supplemented by Non-Intrusive Inspection (NII) systems, to monitor, regulate, and facilitate the flow of goods.Coordinated and delivered training events (cargo and passenger enforcement) with the Egyptian Customs Authority, Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Trade and Industry. Delivered monthly training at the World Customs Organization (WCO) Regional Training Centre in Egypt to government officials from the Middle East region.
