After graduating with a Bachelors Degree in International Affairs, I worked on the JET (Japan Exchange Teaching) Program from 2001-2004 as an Assistant English Teacher at the Junior High School level. I then moved back to the US and worked as a Mutual Fund Securities Representative at Boston Financial Data Services from 2005-2013, where I was the contact person between various Mutual Fund companies and their investors. I then moved on to work at Midland Loan Services/PNC Bank from 2013-2017 as a commercial loan administrator. I started out in the Government Services division where we serviced government loans through Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. After two years there, I moved on to the Insurance Company Servicing division, where I serviced Insurance Company loans for our clients such as The Hartford, CIGNA and Genworth Financial. In 2017, I decided to move back to Japan with my family and applied to the JET program again. I have now been in Japan for the last five years teaching English to Elementary School students. While on the program, I have had a chance to study and improve my Japanese level and have recently passed the JLPT (Japanese Language Proficiency Test) Level N2. N2 is one level below college level Japanese. I will be wrapping up my time on the JET program this year and am looking for a career in Public Service through the US Embassy, not necessarily as a Diplomat, but joining as a local (Japan) hire. I am particularly interested in helping American businesses that want to get into the Japanese market.
