I am responsible for delivering technology research and development projects, involving team leadership, bid preparation, project management, and technical delivery. Key technical skills involve system design and architecture, Creo Parametric 3D CAD design, hardware prototyping and manufacture, Python development, signal processing, and computer vision (OpenCV).

I was regularly involved in engineering design and research projects that required me to carry out concept generation, simulation and modelling, technology development, rapid prototyping, lab testing, detailed design for manufacture, system integration, and technology trials. I developed power, control and safety subsystems for prototype technology demonstrators, using custom electronics based on LabVIEW, PIC microcontrollers and Arduino.Responsibilities also included bidding, planning, managing and delivering projects and regular customer interaction.I managed a large research programme, by means of placing carefully selected research subcontracts within UK industry and academia for the development of specific technologies. This role required a close working relationship with the customer and all of the various subcontractors, together with an understanding of many different technologies and how they might fit together in a future system.
