Environmental Advisor/Marine Environmental Advisor
- Ensure the compliance with GLNG’s following approvals by the Construction contractor (Bechtel); Environmental Authority, EPBC Approvals, Tidal Works, Marine Plants, Dredging , Material Change of Use, Petroleum Licence Facility, Coordinator General Conditions during the construction of a Two Train LNG facility, and associated Marine structures (MOF, LoLo, RoRo, PLF, Berth pockets and channels) on a greenfield site in the Great Barrier Reef World Heritage Area- Represent GLNG on Western Basin Dredging Project Environment Subcommittee, Port Curtis Integrated Monitoring Program (PCIMP), Gladstone Healthy Harbours Partnership (GHHP) to coordinate and optimise environmental monitoring and compliance- Facilitate the development of environment management plans/or program- Coordinating with Construction Management, Process Engineers, Marine Engineers and Contractors on environmental management and compliance issues, ensuring risks to Plant and Port project are identified and elevated quickly and mitigation plans developed.- Develop and maintain close relationships with relevant government and non-government stakeholders to facilitate regulatory approval processes and compliance with permit conditions.- Define and communicate emerging environmental risks for the project and develop mitigation plans in consultation with team members- Provide timely advice to management on non-compliance issues, and coordinate with relevant functional groups to effectively manage non-compliance issues.- Track and advise progress against actions under environmental permits, environmental plans and/or programs and report internally and externally- Auditing of GLNG Contractors- Scoping and facilitating third party audits - Annual permit reporting requirements- Implement and develop monitoring plans/programs as required by approvals/support approval amendments e.g Direct Toxicity Assessment, Receiving Environment, Diffuser modelling, WTP/STP effluent, Air modelling
Environmental Approvals Advisor
- Ensuring that GPC obtains all necessary development and environmental approvals- Maintaining regular contact and strong relationships with government (local, state, and federal) and non-government stakeholders- Manage environmental and impact assessments required in development and environmental application processes and monitoring programs required to meet approval conditions- Maintain and regularly consult with the Technical Advisor Consultative Committee to fulfil sea dumping requirements- Review Port client and lessee development proposals and applications and provide environmental advice to ensure compliance with relevant legislation and protection of GPC interests- Ensure that GPC interests are protected by submitting comments and recommendations regarding EIS’s for activities impacting on Port operations- Represent GPC at relevant environmental and port committees, working groups and seminars to: promote responsible environmental management; influence new legislation and polices that affect ports; keep abreast of new ideas for addressing environmental issues- Keep up to date with, and provide assistance and technical advice on all current development and environmental legislation, regulations and codes of practice concerning any sphere of GPC’s activities- GPC Corporate Environmental representative for the LNG Western Basin Sub-committee meetings, and other LNG proponents environmental subcommittee meetings- Auditing of GPC lessees against their Port imposed environmental conditions to ISO19001- Assist in the preparation of the annual budgetary development expenditure for the Environment program - Ensuring relevant sections of GPC’s EMS are maintained which support ISO14001 certification
