Trek is a yearly pre orientation trip that the University of Vermont has for incoming freshman and transfer students. I lead a group of eight participants canoeing in the backcountry. We were in the Adirondacks for five days without outside support other than my co leader. I taught them essential outdoor and social skills in the backcountry. I implemented problem solving in high stress scenarios using my logistics to deal with weather, health, and group issues, using my group and risk management skills. This ensured social-emotional and physical safety within my group.

I was an orientation leader for the University of Vermont's 2022 fall semester and again at the start of the spring semester (dates non continuous). I led and encouraged team building in a group for them to get acquainted with campus. I communicated with my team leads and my participants to ensure proper execution of a variety of learning goals and that participants arrived at events on time.
