Sam Cino has over 30 years of senior management experience in the health care and social services sectors, having completed 20 years with Good Shepherd Centres as Chief of Corporate Services and HR. Currently, he is the Principal Consultant of the Ontario Work Life Group (OWL). Sam is a graduate of McMaster University, the Canadian Institute of Management, and the University of Toronto/St. Michael’s College and is a former part time instructor in Labour Relations in the HR Management Post Diploma Program and Human Resources Management in the Not-For-Profit Leadership Program at Mohawk College. Sam’s current community engagement is with Rygiel Supports for Community Living (Past Chair), the St. Leonard's Society of Hamilton (Past Chair), Sicilia Canta (co-founder), the Sicilian Cultural Society of Hamilton (Vice President) and other community organizations. His past community experience included President of the Festitalia Corporation, Founder of the Festitalia Italian Heritage Awards Program, Vice-Chair of the St. Joseph's Immigrant Women's Centre Board, Chair of Volunteer Hamilton Centre of Community Engagement, member of the Mayor’s Advisory Council Against Racism and Discrimination and past Chair of the Health Care Health and Safety Association of Ontario.Sam is the recipient of the 2007 Chamber of Commerce HR Hero Award, the 2008 St. Joseph's Villa/Sisters of St. Joseph Mission Legacy Award, the 2013 Queen's Diamond Jubilee Medal, the 2018 Festitalia Italian Heritage Award for Community Services and Social Inclusion, the 2019 Italian Canadian Citizen of the Year, awarded by the Sons and Daughters of Italy Trieste Lodge and the 2021 co-recipient of the CIBPA Community Builder Award.
