I'm a system administrator with an eye for automation. I love solving problems and in today's work environment automation is becoming more and more important. I've been working in IT for 7 years, and a system administrator for about 3 years.When I'm not at work I enjoy hiking (I recently spent over a month backpacking on the Pacific Crest Trail and hiked over 500 miles), reading science fiction novels, playing video games, and hanging out with my dog Caesar.At my previous job with LINN Energy as a System/Storage Analyst, I worked as the only System/Storage Analyst in California for our team. Under my job duties, I installed and maintained the health of over 50 physical rack mounted servers, maintained a vSphere 5.1 environment with 12 hosts and over 100+ virtual machines, maintained and administered over 200TBs of storage in our Compellent SAN and NAS devices, and administered backups for this environment as well. I also maintained and administered our Active Directory environment, as well as multiple Geology and Engineering Department applications. Other small daily duties might include escalated desktop support requests and troubleshooting assistance provided to other IT departments.
