Having worked at Openreach for 3 years as a civil engineer, I decided it was time for a career change and took the step of moving into a desk engineering role within the company.In December 2023 I took the plunge and joined the Fibre Allocation Team in the Network Operations Centre in Bristol. Having worked in that role for 3 month, I was then given the opportunity to take the step up in the NOC and join the Ethernet Analyst Team. In this role our aim is to diagnose and raise fibre faults as sharp and correctly as we can to get them fixed within the SLA. As know, fibre is taking over - especially at Openreach, and here in the NOC we are at the heart of keeping people connected.
