I head up Grant Thornton UK's Tax Risk Management function, helping business understand their tax governance obligations and implement practical and sustainable tax risk management frameworks. I was the HMRC lead for the Corporate Criminal Offence of failing to prevent the facilitation of tax evasion since it's introduction in September 2017 and so best placed to advise business on what they need to do to put preventative procedures in place.I spent 12 and a half years at HMRC after joining on the Management Fast Track Graduate Programme in 2009. My career has centred around enforcement and investigation areas, mainly in and around offshore non-compliance and enablers of criminality, developing operational strategies to tackle high risk areas, underpinned with project and programme management experience to then implement those strategies and plans.
