Current1 / 2Health AdvisorSummaryOrganization:Plan International CanadaReports to:Senior Health AdvisorLocation:Toronto, ON, CanadaThe PositionReporting to the Senior Health Advisor, the Health Advisor will play an important role in guiding, strengthening and supporting Plan Canada and Plan’s global capacity and expertise in health programming specifically in relation to HIV, tuberculosis and malaria.What success looks like?· Provides ongoing implementation stage technical support to Country Offices specializing primarily in malaria, tuberculosis, HIV and resilient and sustainable systems for health (RSSH) for up to seven Global Fund-financed projects in Africa and Latin America;· Depending on the need, may provide partial support to a portfolio of other health projects, including sexual health, gender-informed health systems strengthening, and/or food and nutrition · Works closely with M&E counterparts to ensure that public health technical support is aligned with a data-informed approach to continuous quality improvement · Builds positive, long-term relationships with Plan International Country Offices · Contributes to business development efforts related to the Global Fund, and ensures that project design meets Plan International’s standards for gender equality; · Where relevant networks with key stakeholders including Ministry of Health, The Global Fund Secretariat, Country Coordinating Mechanism, Local Fund Agent, other NGOs; · Identifies and contributes to knowledge management initiatives including research, presentations of project findings, conference abstracts and presentations to further internal learning, sharing and cross-learning with other internal teams · As a member of several Country Support Teams, the Health Advisor manages his/her specific contributions to each project's Country Support Plan in full collaboration with the Program Manager
