I work with AXIS Career Services, the employment division of the Association for New Canadians. Our focus is pairing international workers and students with employment opportunities throughout Newfoundland and Labrador. I coordinate and monitor positions for two programs, the My First Job in NL Program with recent graduates and the Student Internship Program with current students.

I worked with the Community Employment Collaboration, the Newfoundland and Labrador Centre for Applied Health Research, and the Service Learning in Community Engagement (SLICE) group. This group looks to improve relationships between the university and the community and through this, facilitate student opportunities. My work involved researching barriers and facilitators to community engagement and building an online portal to help facilitate community-university relationships.

I worked at Sitel during my year off post-secondary studies during the academic year of 2016-2017. I was responsible for providing customer service to Shark-Ninja customers, a company which manufactures electronics like vacuums, blenders, and steam mops. This involved troubleshooting products, ordering parts and accessories, and applying product warranty. This involved taking around 60 calls a day and helped develop strong interpersonal and conflict resolution skills.

I worked part-time and volunteered as a simulated patient at the UNBSJ campus of the Dalhousie University medical program. My responsibilities include simulating patient-doctor visits to contribute to the education of undergraduate medical students. This could be physical exams like respiratory exams or more complicated interpersonal interactions.

I worked here as a summer student through a federal funding program for summer student jobs. I was responsible for helping maintain the physical appearance of the cathedral through mowing lawns, painting, buffing floors, etc. I would also run errands such as delivering donated food to a local food bank partnered with the Cathedral.

I worked at the Superstore part-time during high school and then during summers between university terms. I worked produce and was responsible for making sure items in the department were stocked and presented in a visually appealing manner. I was also responsible for building displays for specials, providing customer service, and preparing the backshop for orders.

I was a teacher's assistant during the winter term of the 2014-2015 school year for BIOL 2601: Genetics and during the fall term of the 2015-2016 school year for PSYC 3001: Advanced Design and Analysis. I was responsible for supporting students with various learning needs during the laboratory portion of both courses, which included helping conduct lab experiments, explaining and demonstrating course concepts, and marking student presentations. In addition, I invigilated for both course, lab exams for BIOL 2601 and course midterms for PSYC 3001.
