As an infantry soldier I am part of the army’s front-line team, and I get involved with everything from peacekeeping and disaster relief to full-scale war. Whilst currently serving in the army I spent one year at Harrogate Army Foundation College where I learned basic soldering skills through my phase one training, I then went onto Catterick for phase two. On completion of this I was assigned to the Royal Anglian Regiment the Poachers. Whist I have been in the regiment I have served time in Afghanistan, Germany, Kenya, France and Lanzarote. My time spent in Afghanistan was serving on the front line fighting the Taliban and winning the hearts and minds of the local communities. In Germany I was on a multinational exercise fighting against the Americans. Time spent in Kenya was a testing exercise as this is the hardest exercise an Infantry Soldier can participate in. In France I was skiing for my regiment over a nine week period competing in the Infantry ski championships. I played water polo for my Company in Lanzarote.
