Jacobs Digital Solutions is inclusive of Advanced Data Analytics, Digital Advisory, Data Capture, Geospatial, Cyber Security, Digital Engineering and Strategic Advisory. Sam worked across multiple market portfolios with a concentration on Rail, Ports and Aviation, Transport and Water.His current role utilises his business acumen and strong professional drive to provide commercial insight and sensibilities to develop market presence for the Digital Solutions performance unit. Sam’s passion for strong commercially focused leadership is an extension of his post-graduate business studies at Curtin University. Within Sam’s current senior leadership role, he works closely with the ANZ Digital Solutions leadership team to establish and drive strategic direction and business performance outcomes.

Principal Surveyor for ANZ Digital Solutions team.With significant long term Geospatial industry experience, inclusive of roles within consultancy, operations, business development, team management and project delivery, Sam was promoted to a Principal Surveyor position. Within this role, Sam worked with the ANZ Digital Solutions performance unit, in direct management and business development whilst continuing to act as a Principal consultant within operational delivery environments.During this tenure, Sam worked as a project manager and Principal consultant across several large national infrastructure projects. This is inclusive of current roles with clients such as Rail Projects Victoria, Suburban Rail Loop Authority, Major Transport Infrastructure Authority, Defence and Transport and Main Roads (Qld).

Team Leader for Survey within Jacobs (formally SKM)Responsible for the management and utilisation of survey team members, the coordination of new technology, and implementation of best practice methodology (providing both technical and commercial project reviews). This role also involves business development across survey activities within the Victorian and greater South East Australian sector.Jacobs survey has significant exposure to clientele across Mining and Resources, Environment and Water, Defence and Infrastructure. More recently, the role has required specific project management of survey tasks for large infrastructure projects inclusive of East-West Link, Melbourne Metro Rail Project and the expansion of Melbourne Airport.Technical specialties include the development of advanced 3D laser scanning (both mobile and terrestrial) applications, high precision control and deformation studies and the implementation of survey/spatial solutions across multiple engineering platforms.

Within this role Sam was tasked with conducting and managing Geodetic surveys throughout various regions of the greater Australian territory (inc. Antarctica and South Pacific) for the purposes of contributing to the underlying Australian geospatial reference system project. Through this position Sam was also fortunate to work directly as part of the Australian National Antarctic Research Expedtion (ANARE) and was located in Antarctica over 5 months between November 2010 / March 2011. Chief Navigator for Geophysical Exploration company CGGVeritas.Sam was involved in multiple offshore and onshore exploration projects managing a team of Navigators in operational geophysical exploration (Seismic) across multiple worldwide regions.Through this position Sam gained exposure to geophysical exploration activities and methodologies and was tasked with the management of navigation teams, upkeep and calibration of all instrumentation and the delivery of Spatial datasets to the project. A significant part of this role involved the onsite liason with client representatives and delivery of finalised reports verfifying the completeness and quality of conducted surveys.

Engineering Consultant on array of projects across areas including Resources, Environmental, Construction and Civil.Within this role Sam specialised in the application of Terrestrial Surveying solutions (including 3D laser scanning) across multiple client disciplines.Project highlights include being principal surveyor on the establishment and construct of a 14km gas pipeline in Papua New Guines and being involved in the development and application of volumetric determination methodlogy on coal stockpiles in Quezon, Philippines.
