Administered the Ontario Works program, using sound judgement to interpret and apply legislative policies and directives in a fair and balanced manner. Taught a model program, developed by the University of Southern California designed to reduce the prevalence of substance abuse amongst youth aged 14-19.Responsible for case management and administrative duties including: data recording and entry, intake and assessment of potential clients and administering pre and post-test evaluations to measure the effectiveness of the program with quantitative data.Developed and carried out marketing strategies to promote the agency in the community appearing in several local news paper publications in my work soliciting the agency I worked for and the program I was a part of.Established relationships with community partners that resulted in increasing the number of participants in the program(s) our agency provided. Managed the progress, attendance and needs of youth in various agency programs, collecting data and then using it to demonstrate a reduction of risk-factors of youth with whom I worked.Researched, conceived and wrote proposals for funding as a part of new program development. My work was incorporated in funding proposal submissions and my input sought out by management. As a result, I was the first front line staff invited to join the agency Business Development Committee, which was previously reserved for management level staff. Worked with at-risk adolescents involved in youth-gangs and provided individual and group counseling. Successfully mentored gang-involved youth resulting in transitions to employment and/or return to secondary and post-secondary education.
