Hack Oregon, Behind the Curtain is a large volunteer project exploring money in politics. Our continuing mission is to create a data-immersive experience that is accessible, intuitive, useful and fun for the general public. For this project I assumed responsibility for the back end data processing infrastructure. This included construction of a modular framework that is conducting daily imports of data from the Oregon Secretary of State, restructuring and analyzing this data, then delivering it to front end visualizations via RESTful endpoints. Beyond construction of the back end, I advised on and communicated data structure and trends to diverse team for refinement of visualizations and communication with the public. As well, I helped induct numerous volunteers into our team so that they were empowered in making substantive contributions to the project. Worked with GraphAlchemist to analyze data from parking lots around the Seattle area. Conducted exploratory data analysis and data mining in PostgreSQL database to find predictors of market elasticity. Extrapolated missed income potential from occupancy data and demonstrated elasticity. Created visualizations to explore and communicate trends in multiple dimensions of parking data.

Performed quantitative and qualitative chemical analysis as well as some chemical processing/process development in support of preparations for a major industrial scale-up.

Performed in-vitro and in-vivo enzymatic experiments working on several different biofuels-related projects.
