I was the head lifeguard at the water facility for a couple of months in addition to being a standard camp counselor. I initiated swim periods, opened up the water facilities, and managed other lifeguards. I also was in charge of running swim tests, making sure that I was comfortable with every single one of the people entering the water. For context, the water facility was on a brackish, tidal waterfront, where the visibility in the water was extremely low.

I was a cabin leader for Camp Chewonki, a sleep-away/overnight and wilderness camp. I was in charge of two groups of eight children for four weeks each. I monitored the campers 24/7, helping them get to and from camp activities and meals, and also took them on a six-day wilderness canoe trip.
