Sam Hunt BA FMAI am an independent consultant with extensive experience of working with heritage organisations across the UK, from voluntary run museums to national institutions on a wide variety of projects. Over the last three years I have been working with AIM, the Association of Independent Museums as their Executive Director. I am currently managing their ACE funded Benchmarking Project and the BIFFA Award National Heritage Landscape Partnership Scheme. Previously I was Chief Executive of the South West Museums, Libraries and Archives Council and Chief Executive of the South West Museums Council. Prior to that I was Head of Bath Museums Service, managing the Roman Baths Museum, the Museum of Costume, the Victoria Art Gallery and the Bath Archaeological Trust; Senior Keeper at Exeter Museum Services and Assistant Keeper of Art at Salford Museum and Art Gallery.I am a Trustee of the National Maritime Museum Cornwall and an HLF Mentor. I have also served as a member of the HLF South West Committee and NT Wessex Committee. I have also held trustee posts with the Tamar Trust, Dorset Archaeology and Natural History Trust and Dartington Glass.
