Research in the Ackerman Lab in collaboration with a PhD candidate on two projects: Antibody engineering of EG mutants to improve complement activity against HIV and developing a stable cell line expressing HIV antigens.In the EG mutant project, I have successfully engineered multiple broadly neutralizing antibodies to have the EG mutant and engaged in ligation, primer design on benchling, and bacterial culturing. I have done multiple assays (complement activation, phagocytosis, etc.), gaining experience in using a flow cytometer. In developing a stable cell line expressing HIV surface antigens, I have become adept at handling mammalian cells and retroviral transfection. I am fully trained on multiple devices such as the flow cytometer and fluorescent microscope and also trained to work in BSL 2+ labs.

As an intern, I package and assemble lights to be sold, manage the company website and other online accounts of the company, Design brochures, facilitated meetings with industry leaders, and attend global lighting conferences in Las Vegas.

Researched and cataloged information of around 15 gene therapy research papers each week to be added to the Bioviva Codekeeper Database.

Adding on to my previous year as an innovator, I honed my skills in entrepreneurship and continued to expand my knowledge of new and developing technologies.Starting from the beginning of the year, I had researched neuroscience and eventually narrowed it down into the field of Alzheimer's, where I sought to seek novel methods of preventing Alzheimer's. On the entrepreneurship side, I worked with multiple teams of other activators to help consult and develop possible solutions to economically incentivized problems while also engaging in an in-depth analysis of case studies. Near the beginning of May, I had begun work with other activates on a startup project seeking to prevent neonatal deaths, and we were able to secure initial investments.

I worked on enhancing my knowledge of exponential technologies, entrepreneurial skills, and character. Over the course of the year, I focused mainly on gene editing, and later gene therapy, eventually leading me to create a prototype of a modified Ad5 genome with Crispr to target the K-RAS oncogene.
