• Validate an active compound by synthesizing various derivatives of targeted molecules through core modifications• Scale-up and purification of target compounds up to 7g – 15g scales• Troubleshooting synthetic procedures to achieve targeted compounds• Do sample purification through flash chromatography when possible (reverse phase and normal phase)• Checking compound purity through data achieved from NMR and LC/MS• Keeping an up-to-date and detailed Notebook• Write monthly and weekly progress reports• Keeping up with lab safety awareness and wearing proper PPE in the lab• Maintaining and ensuring the Combiflash Isco systems are up to date and in well working conditions• Act as a vendor liaison for the consumables and reagent inventory

• Propose compound modifications with valid IP space that will lead to enzymatic and cell potency• Validate a lead compound by synthesizing various derivatives of hit compounds through modifications to the core or to the functional groups• Scale-up and purification of starting materials up to 15g – 20g scales and of final compounds after ~10 step synthesis up to 2g - 3g scales• Troubleshooting synthetic procedures to achieve targeted compounds• Do sample purification through HPLC and flash chromatography when possible (reverse phase and normal phase)• Checking compound purity through data achieved from NMR and LC/MS• Attending lab safety and hazardous material disposal classes every year to ensure lab safe practices• Reading current literature pertaining to the project daily and using the information where applicable• Writing up procedures and results for patents and scientific papers• Presenting monthly updates using Power Point
