I am the Port Manager of the Port of Boston, the largest and busiest of 5 Ports within Victoria Group Ports. I oversee a range of supply chain functions as well as lead and manage around 80 employees plus various 3rd parties. The Port of Boston is a busy tidal Port on the East Coast of England, discharging and loading approximately 400 ships per year. We are the Statutory Harbour Authority, and the sole terminal operator on the Port providing a variety of services such as stevedoring, storage (open or warehouse), transport via road or rail, port agency, pilotage, towage and a range of other services. We regularly handle a diverse range of break-bulk (steel coils, timber, paper reels, poles, bags, RDF/SRF bales, poles), bulk, and project cargoes utilising a range of cranes and material handlers. I have over 9 years of experience in the ports and shipping industry, an Economics degree, and I am a member of the Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers (MICS) by examination.My career journey reflects my passion, determination, and adaptability, as I have successfully navigated through various challenges and opportunities, from securing an RPAS pilot role in the RAF to instead forging a long-term career in ports and shipping.I am also training in the RLC Army Reserves as well as being a fitness enthusiast, enjoying sports such as snowboarding, football and wakeboarding.I welcome the opportunity to connect with like-minded professionals who share my interest in the maritime sector.
