Since 2000, I have been working at Colpac Ltd, a renowned UK manufacturer and designer of food packaging solutions. With a commitment to sustainability, Colpac has been at the forefront of developing innovative packaging that balances environmental responsibility with functionality. Throughout my time in the manufacturing industry, I have gained valuable management experience while honing my technical skills.My expertise includes production and machine setting on various finishing machines. I have hands-on experience setting up window patching machines, adjusting glue lines for both crash lock and straight line cartons, and configuring carton forming machines for different styles, including web and clamshell cartons. This technical proficiency has allowed me to contribute significantly to our production processes and product quality.In addition to my professional journey, I am studying for a BSc in Packaging Professional at Sheffield Hallam University. I will be able to gain: An understanding of the supply chain and how your work relates to the packaging industry.Develop arguments with new theories and ideas ready to tackle the issues facing the packaging industry.The course will provide a thoughtful understanding of where the packaging industry and its major segments stand today.The course highlights emerging trends reshaping the industry, providing an informed workforce that can prepare and respond to changes in sustainability and substitution to alternative materials.I will gain a thorough understanding of all aspects of the packaging industry, including raw material conversion, barrier properties, marketing and presentation. I will learn relevant, cutting-edge skills that businesses in the packaging and retail sectors need to move forward In my spare time, I pursue my passion for model engineering, where I build and maintain scale steam traction engines. This hobby not only fuels my creativity but also sharpens my skills in precision and craftsmanship.
