Sustainability Manager
CurrentReports to the External Affairs Director and responsible for managing the key objectives and responsibilities of the Natural Resources and Renewable Energy portfolios to:-Support the ongoing sustainability and performance of the industry;-Promote the minimisation of the industry’s impact on the environment;-Keep track of threats and opportunities that could affect the industry and;-Ensure industry’s environmental objectives and activities are widely communicated.Key responsibilities include protecting the industry from external regulation to allow an enabling natural resources regulatory environment, promoting and lobbying for industry diversification opportunities to ensure the long-term viability of the industry and communication of industry efforts to government to convince government of the important role that the industry plays in sustainable development and use of natural resources. Responsibilities also include networking and collaborating with key contacts to positively influence policy shifts required for industry sustainability and diversification and environmental monitoring, co-ordination, and counselling to ensure that the overall strategic purpose of the Natural Resources department is met.
