Over the course of the last 15 years I have worked as a Portfolio Implementation Analyst at two Asset Management firms. The first six years were spent at UBS Global Assessment Management as a senior member of the team working on Multi-asset Portfolio Implementation, specifically on $10bn worth of Dynamic Alpha Strategies. Responsibilities included: updating, implementing and monitoring strategy changes; co-ordinating all daily cashflows to the DAS vehicles; managing the implementation of derivative overlays (exchange traded, over the counter and FX) on all the products; and working closely with Portfolio Managers and Asset Allocation Analysts. Prior to this role I was Senior Performance Analyst at UBS for three and half years. In 2011, I was approached to set up a Multi-asset Portfolio Implementation process for an investment team that had joined William Blair Investment Management a few months earlier: the Global Macro Team. I created new processes and procedures to implement this strategy to the firm, incorporating existing systems and procedures. As the business grew from $5m seed capital to over $2.5bn I handled all strategy changes, monitoring portfolios in line with specific regulations, tolerances and cash flows to the seven vehicles. They included several different types of vehicles, Mutual, CIT, LLC and SICAV across Multi-asset and Currency only strategies. This has allowed me to enhance my key skills of attention to detail and accuracy under pressure within tight time constraints. I have also been able to use my own initiative to make processes and systems more efficient to limit, as far as possible, the potential for errors. I have experience in implementing the following instruments: segregated equities, sovereign fixed income, exchange traded funds, equity index derivatives (ETD), sovereign fixed income derivates (ETD), OTC Swaps (indices, basket of equities, ETFs, IRS), options (index, both OTC and ETD) and FX (forwards, spots and options).
