The Queensland Treasury Corporation is the central financing authority of Queensland. The advisory division at QTC works with government owned companies, local governments and public sector entities. QTC provides clients with debt funding and management, cash management facilities and financial risk management advisory services.Since September 2023, I have been working in the energy team, specialising in energy market modelling. • Performed energy market modelling using PLEXOS and Python• Synthesised key findings from energy industry documents (ISP, GenCosts) to improve modelling assumptions and provide insights to internal and external stakeholders• Modelled the impact of major events, technological changes and weather on the NEM across long-term and short-term horizons• Analysed financial of clients (energy businesses) to provide advice• Created data models using Python, PowerQuery, PowerPivot and Excel to organise and share market data• Conducted analysis of large datasets to identify trends, drivers and forecast key variablesBefore joining the energy team, I worked across multiple areas in the division.• Identified key drivers, trends and connections across a variety of departmental datasets• Integrated Power Pivot and Power Query into a financial model to allow big data capabilities• Developed internal business tools to improve data capabilities using Excel and VBA• Performed an analysis of water utilities using R • Provided recommendations to directors regarding divisional opportunities in technology• Tested the applicability of international financial research to the Australian context

As a client division research intern, one area of work was turning financial academic research into models and frameworks that could be used by QTC. Some examples include:▪ developing fair value models for bond yields▪ extracting implied volatility from the slope of the yield curve, and▪ using established equity factors to forecast bond market returns.As an intern, I used R, Power Query and Excel to perform data analysis and formulate reccomendations for processes.

As part of the UQ Singapore Startup AdVenture 2022, I was placed at AckTec by the Accelerating Asia, a venture-capital group. AckTec is developing an online marketplace, which links education providers across South-East Asia with students.As a financial analyst I was tasked with creating financial projections and valuation models. The role also involved automating the calculation of financial ratios from monthly reports and reconciling statements.

The Tracer DAO project uses the power of perpetual pools and perpetual swaps to allow users to create derivative markets on any asset. Mycelium's Reputation DAO monitors and ranks the reliability of oracles, which are responsible for providing data to applications on Ethereum. Improving the quality of data fosters the growtg of the decentralised finance ecosystem.The research team at Mycelium assists these projects by improving the internal knowledge of the company. Mycelium research analyses the technology that powers cryptocurrencies, potential areas for project expansion and legislation. The research team also writes articles on popular and complicated topics in the cryptocurrency space to increase the knowledge of the community and raise the profile of the company.During the summer internship I researched six Ethereum alternatives, Cardano, Cosmos, Fantom, Polkadot, Polygon and Solana. I compared the chains based upon a variety of characetrstics, these included: • Consensus Algorithms & Chain Structures • Cross-Chain Bridges • Future Projects & De-Fi Ecosystem • Developer Tools • Security & Scalability Capabilities
