Sam Oh is a Distinguished Professor for Global Affairs at Sungkyunkwan University, Seoul, Korea, and an AFFILIATE PROFESSOR AT UNIVERSITY of WASHINGTON iSCHOOL, USA. HIS expertise spans DATA MODELING, METADATA DESIGN, ONTOLOGY DESIGN, AND DATA ANALYTICS. With rich history of funded projects and consultancy for various Korean companies and government sectors, he has also held leadership roles as the PAST CHAIR AND CURRENT AMBASSADOR of ISCHOOLS, INC, and the current EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR of DUBLIN CORE METADATA INITIATIVE (DCMI). Furthermore, Sam chairs TC46/SC4 (Technical Interoperability) and has a noteworthy tenure chairing both TC46/SC9 (Identification & Description) for 6 years and ISO/IEC JTC1 SC34 (Document Description and Processing Languages) for 9 years. His academic contributions extend to teaching at iSchools such as UNIVERSITY OF TEXAS AT AUSTIN, SYRACUSE, PITTSBURGH, and UNIVERSITY OF NORTH CAROLINA at CHAPEL HILL.
