In spring 2023, I finished UCSB as an honors student of the Chicana/o/x Studies Department. My student research involved self-fashioning and joy among Latin American people. I gave a presentation at the Honors Colloquium in June 2023. In May 2023, I gave a lecture (as an undergrad student) to new undergraduates on conducting research and scoring research.

I was an undergraduate research assistant, teaching assistant, and student teacher for high schoolers investigating research methods and language. I taught social justice-based curriculum, socio-linguistics, linguistics, and research methods. High school AVID students led socio-linguistic research projects and presented to the UC Santa Barbara faculty at.

In the spring of 2022, I was a student mentor to 4th graders. HUGs is a program linking UCSB undergrads with Harding University Partnership School--an elementary school. I taught them about marine ecology, where I encouraged literacy, curiosity, and critical thinking skills.

I taught young children the value of land conservation and community. We learned about respect, consent, and formative lessons around integrity together.
