Students are encouraged to consider both established and emerging areas of technology such as the use of apps/internet/social media, “serious games”, esports, active video games, and gamification as the basis for developing, considering, and answering research questions related to sport and exercise psychology. In 6 short, electric months, I contributed to the opening of a £15m leisure centre, designed to be the flagship centre in the north of Kirklees, interviewed, recruited, and trained new staff, and worked on developing the wider fitness product. I led the fitness team with altruistic values centred on maximising delivery and facetime with our lovely members. The site team worked as one to deliver 55-70% of ALL KAL fitness appointments, which includes data from 9 other sites. I led the fitness team with altruistic values centred on maximising delivery and facetime with our lovely members. The site team worked as one to deliver 55-70% of ALL KAL fitness appointments, which includes data from 9 other sites. We made additions to the group exercise program 3 times, and developed the Junior Fitness offer twice, while also starting the process for wider multi-site product development and expansion. In terms of team development, one of my mentees went on to secure the role of Fitness Team Leader, to be my replacement. It felt like the perfect run, and I left the company, after 7 years of service, with my head held high, knowing we had contributed positively to the local community. Show less
