This position involved copy and audio typing, answering telephone enquiries, keeping the solicitor’s diary up to date with appointments and Court dates, filing and other general office duties.

I held the position of Chairperson of Shipmates (PTA of Hilltop Infants) which is a registered charity no. 1096042. Increased charity's income from £6,000 to £14,500 per annum during my time as Chair. Organising fundraising events. Marketing. Chairing meetings, preparing agendas and minutes. Liaising with Headteacher, Governors, Committee and parent volunteers. Preparation of correspondence and all marketing materials. Securing sponsorship and donations of raffle prizes.

Preparation of Trial Bundles for Court, attending Court with clients, taking detailed notes during Hearings and liaising with barristers and Court staff.Preparation of all legal bills for the Family Department and chasing clients for payment.Dealing personally with routine correspondence, file reviews and preparation of legal documents including the disclosure of financial documents within divorce proceedings and preparation of schedules of assets and liabilities.I was instrumental in implementing a standardised routine letter and document system for the Family Department and up-dated these as and when Court fees or other legal procedures changed.My other duties included liaising with staff, keeping holiday and sickness records, arranging social functions for the firm and covering the switchboard when necessary.During my many years at Brian Ruff Angus & Jewers I was also trained to cover the accounts department, make TT and BACS payments and dealt with banking. The firm did not have a website and I took it upon myself to learn HTML, designed the firm’s website and researched the best server options.
