I’ve built a strong track record on being a consensus builder and a collaborative strategist on a variety of complex policy issues affecting education, science, technology, telecommunications, workforce development and cannabis - including cultivation, distribution, manufacturing licensing and governmental regulations. I served as the Assistant Director of Science for Education and Communications at the Department of Energy and was instrumental in developing strategic communication initiatives to educate stakeholders in the construction of the Joint Genome Institute in California. I also led an inter-agency effort to create a first of its kind Community College Institute in the areas of biotechnology, environmental science and computing. In state government, I had managerial responsibilities to direct and develop policy for almost twenty executive program managers affecting the state's workforce system. I'v served as an advisor to the Cable Industry, producing a bi-partisan ‘public education campaign’ for the Nevada Presidential Caucus. As the State Director for Comcast, I worked closely with the Vice President of Government Affairs to re-design the organization and mission of the field operation. I regularly spoke on behalf of our company underscoring our leadership in technology and media to various policy groups at the national, state and local levels. As a board member of the California Employment Training Panel, appointed by the Assembly Speaker, I assess investments requests that spur job creation and job retention affecting the state's economy. My work as a policy consultant provides legislative analysis and strategic advice to industry leaders in technology on critical issues. I’ve always taken pride in my abilities to understand the nexus between policy and politics when solving complex legislative issues affecting a dynamic matrix of vested interests.
