Current• Provide technical expertise and leadership to support the mission of the DCC, a world leading center of expertise on digital information curation.• Lead development efforts to build, enhance and support the DCC’s DMPonline platform, an open source Ruby on Rails website with a PostgreSQL database, which provides data management plan creation to researchers worldwide.• Onboard, train and manage development team while personally coding.• Scope, prioritize, architect and implement new features.• Assist in running in-person and virtual user-groups to gather feedback to enhance the platform.• Leverage user feedback to enhance an open source Ruby on Rails Website by: • Developing a RESTful API for extracting data and statistics from a PostgreSQL database. • Overhauling the authorization system to provide updated security protocols. • Redesigning the database structure to optimize query performance and improve the domain model. • Creating a general-purpose migration from the old to new database structure. • Assisting adopters of the Open Source codebase in migrating their customized applications.• Collaborate with research funders in Ireland and the Netherlands to explore adding additional platform functionality to save time in the research process.• Maintain, upgrade, and deploy technical infrastructure for 4 services with over 65,000 users from 47 subscribing organizations across 7 countries.• Implement and manage internal project-management workflow through GitHub issues and projects.• Created closed-source Multi-tenant wrapper for open-source Roadmap codebase.• Led technical side of a rollout from a previously free service to a subscription SAAS model.• Primary presenter at conferences including on DMPRoadmap’s machine-actionable DMP at the 14th Research Data Alliance Plenary in Helsinki and IDCC 2020 conferences.• Accelerated onboarding of developers through dockerizing our development and production workflows.
