Canary Wharf, contracted via Reed TechnologyWorked as a build engineer for Customer Support Services in the IT delivery team I was involved in the building of PC's. This includes performing various upgrades such as memory upgrades and hardware troubleshooting. Installing applications through the use of CWD deployment software, Active Directory management and providing hot swap PCs.I have now migrated to a user facing role with greater technical responsibilities. These include initial configuration of laptops before the 'Laptop hand over'. The Laptop hand over is a face to face appointment based process whereby the user is shown how to access wireless, the backup utility, and told about Safeboot - a hardware encryption utility. As well as the hand over I am also responsible for installing software, installing and removing kit at desk locations. These responsibilities are carried across multiple sites. This role has enabled me to further broaden my technical knowledge and further improve on my time management to meet where possible SLA's, as the Laptop hand over is dependent on user availability.We are currently in the testing phase of Windows 7 our team is partly responsible for promoting Windows 7 to users and also to troubleshoot any issues before it is deployed throughout the estate.

- Responsible for installing base level operating systems, and user specific applications.- Troubleshooting hardware and software issues.- Ensuring the PC's were delivered within agreed hardware SLA's- Resolving software issues- Upgrading machines if they did not meet minimum hardware specifications- Maintaining a constant supply of Hotswap PCs for emergency use with a basic build on them.- Ensuring PC's are in the correct containers in Active Directory.
