Other duties included guiding employees and sub-contractors to ensure a high quality of workmanship and strict health and safety standards whilst coordinating my team members daily workloads.

As the Lead Technician I worked alongside a team of contractors and over a 12 month period contributed towards the West Region of Severn Trent Water achieving its lowest leakage levels in history. I was appointed as trainer on the Modus trailer which was used to chlorinate and de-chlorinate water mains. I was tasked with training over 20 Distribution Service Technicians in its use and safe operation. I worked annualised hours shift patterns which included nights, weekends and out of hours call in. Regular response to emergencies such as burst water mains and customer loss of supply. I had to react quickly and safely taking the lead and assisting gangs with repairs and water main isolations. This could be extremely intense and difficult at times but gave me great satisfaction when a job was completed and the customer’s water supply restored. During this role I also obtained my Diploma in Water Engineering and Leakage detection certificate as well as various in house training courses.Key responsibilities:• Locating and pinpointing leaks using correlaters and ground microphones. • Pipe tracing and locating using CAT and JENNY.• Step test planning, undertaking and analysing.• Servicing and repairing pressure reducing valves and flow meters.• Water quality sampling.• Pressure and Flow logging.• District metered area design and implementation.
