I have been working in the landscaping industry with MITIE for almost 5 years. During this time I have had a lot of customer interaction regarding quote and service enquiries which I endeavour to respond to in a timely manner in order to maintain client satisfaction. I have also been involved with the Christmas side of the business ensuring orders are scheduled to clients at times and locations requested ensuring they have a hassle free Christmas.It has been essentail to maintain a sense of humour for the festive season!Initially I trained in mechanical & computer aided engineering. I found the subject extremely interesting as it covered a wide spectrum of subject matter including design, engineering physics, maths and materials technology. In the final year of my course I received an award for being the highest achiever of my year. Whilst at college I was also included in a presentation as ‘a prime example of women in engineering’; this was later include in the Hago products newsletter. Following on from this (well slightly before completion!) I was offered a position at Hago Products Ltd where I cut my teeth in the real world of engineering. I readily took on all aspects of the role assisting with everything from design through to manufacture.Whilst working at Hago I was also included in the company newsletter as ‘a prime example of women in engineering’.Many of the lessons I learnt from my time at Hago I took with me into future roles and have developed them to suit each company’s individual requirements. Similarly, at each subsequent role I have acquired new skills and knowledge which has helped me to develop my ability to bring something of value to any business.
