I am a Partner in the commercial dispute resolution team at Carey Olsen, based in the firm's Bermuda office. I was previously a member of DLA Piper's global Litigation, Arbitration and Investigations group, and was located in both Dubai and Singapore. I regularly act in civil, commercial and regulatory disputes and enforcement actions before the Bermuda Supreme Court, the Bermuda Court of Appeal and public authorities. I also head up the Bermuda debt recovery practice, assisting banks, companies and public authorities with managing their portfolios of non-performing loans and recovering outstanding debt through negotiation and court action. I have particular experience acting for commercial parties in domestic and international arbitrations, and have handled arbitrations seated in Bermuda, London, Paris, Dubai, the Dubai International Financial Centre, Singapore and Kuwait under the auspices of many major arbitral institutions. I have also represented clients in English High Court proceedings and before the common law courts of the Dubai International Financial Centre. I also have significant experience of other forms of alternative dispute resolution, in particular mediation.My experience covers disputes in a wide variety of sectors, but in particular insurance, banking, investment funds, real estate and healthcare.
