Modern production vehicles have a variety of sensors that help them perceive the environment around them and wireless communication methods are being developed that allows vehicles to share their sensor data with one another such as vehicle to vehicle (V2V) and vehicle to everything (V2X) communications. I am working on methods that fuse sensor data from multiple vehicles to create a collaborative perception of the vehicle's environment. One specific problem I am focusing on is collaborative object detection; each vehicle can detect a set of objects using its own sensors but there must be a consensus for which objects were detected by multiple vehicles and which objects were not, so that every vehicle in the connected vehicle environment can be aware of the presence of all the objects. I leverage various machine learning and computer vision algorithms to create a novel framework that aims to solve this problem. Show less
