I oversaw all male representative rugby, including the youth development pathways, from the Herts DPP through to the Senior Men’s XV. This role involves working between the elite and aspirational pathways to provide the best possible playing experiences for those playing rugby in Hertfordshire. With a focus on developing opportunities to transition through the age grade system to play at the most appropriate level within the system.I am also lead coach for the Herts U17-18 boys programme, assisting with the Stags at Herts U20s and have recently been part of the U18 LSE coaching team.

New Hall School is a Catholic independent school with an excellent recent rugby history, including the production of England age group players and current Saracens professionals, and a line of PDG players creating a strong rugby ethos throughout the school. The priority is building on this strong foundation and enhancing the rugby playing experience of all students, creating adherence to the sport through enjoyment, achievement of goals and creating a positive transitions through the game.

Men’s Head Coach - working as Head Coach of the Mens Programme I led the on & off-field activities with a varied squad, containing several past and current Canadian international and provincial representative players. The position included developing the whole men’s section as well as transitioning the U18 squad into the senior men’s programme, with all squads achieving improved win/loss ratios, + points differences and a strong, “club and a half” social scene.

I accepted the opportunity to design, implement and maintain an innovative cancer referral programme across health and wellbeing sites in Hertfordshire, with One YMCA in a partnership funding bid with Macmillan Cancer Support. The programme was designed to improve the overall health and wellbeing of those who have been affected by cancer through engagement in physical activity and positive lifestyle behaviour change within a community sports setting. My prior experience and knowledge meant that I was able to safely and effectively work with people living with the effects of one or many long-term health conditions and my management and organisational experience allowed me to effectively monitor and develop the programme appropriately as it expanded into the North & East Herts area.The programme covered most of Hertfordshire, with eleven sites – including eight external delivery sites with three external leisure providers – offering the service. We trained health and wellbeing staff to deliver the project appropriately, including front of house staff and fitness teams to ensure that they were both empathetic towards the service users and comfortable in their own customer facing roles.

I joined the YMCA as a level 2 fitness instructor in 2007. Whilst gaining various qualifications in delivering health and fitness, I started to work alongside neurological charities including MS Society; Parkinsons UK, Stroke Association, MIND and Headway Herts, and the NHS in implementing appropriate services for people with neurological issues. This required a high level of empathy and motivational leadership, and I consider myself fortunate to build long lasting, mutually rewarding relationships with all service users and charity employees.In 2013 I took on the responsibility of managing the Central Watford YMCA health and fitness club, whilst continuing to oversee various neurological services and programmes at all three Health & Wellbeing sites in West Hertfordshire. This role included day-to-day operational management of the Watford site, which at the time had around 1000+ active members, a busy studio timetable, fitness classes, full-time and part-time staff as well as cooperating with a centralised reception team.
