I am currently a graduate trainee in the SEND and Inclusion service currently working in the SEND Strategic Planning Team working on the services Communication and Engagement. As part of my role, I am capturing the voice of children and young people with SEND and their parents and carers and using their feedback towards decisions that will positively impact on their lives. Some of the responsibilities of my role include:•Regularly updating the SEND Local Offer (amendments and additions).•Engaging with parents and carers support groups and parents and carers themselves. Over the last two years I have developed and maintained a relationship with Parent Carer Voice North Yorkshire who are the largest support group across the county. I have also set up an online network that brings together all the chairs of different support groups across the county to be able to support one another and provide any feedback to council and for the council to provide feedback to them.•Collating and making a termly SEND Partnership Newsletter which is sent out to parents and carers, and schools. The newsletter contains contributions from internal and external stakeholders including health (specifically the Integrated Care Boards across the County).•I have produced and presented reports to the services Inclusion Management Team. This team is made up of Heads of Service and the Assistant Director. I have also helped with work that has gone towards the service Ofsted Inspection.I have also completed and achieved an on the job Level 3 Improvement Technician apprenticeship through Derwent side College.Taken up continuous opportunities to extend my personal development through courses such as: Aspiring managers, Middle Managers Programme, Safeguarding Adults, Safeguarding Children and Equality, Diversity and Inclusion.

I assisted the class teacher in the running of the class. Some of my responsibilities included small group and 1 on 1 in subjects such as Reading (phonics), Writing and Maths.I assisted with pupils with SEND including Autism, Cerebral Palsy and Brittle Bones.I was promoted from a GTA (General Teaching Assistant) to a supply HLTA (Higher Level Teaching Assistant) by the school leadership team. I had more responsibility in teaching and running small groups of pupils up to full classes when teaching staff were absent. I also assisted and covered all years from Reception up to Upper Key Stage 2 (Year 6).I also assisted on an overnight residential trip with the Year 5 staff and pupils.
