At Clapham and Collinge I deal with new business enquiries from prospective and existing clients. I am often the first point of contact for the firm, and responsible for dealing with new enquiries, booking appointments, and allocating new business to lawyers across all practice areas. I frequently liaise between the departments and clients to ensure the most suitable outcome. The position also involves supporting the marketing team by assisting in delivering events, and the reception team.

I spent a year on international exchange at the University of New South Wales in Sydney, Australia. I studied a variety of modules to broaden both my legal and general knowledge, whilst also immersing myself in Australian history and culture.

I returned to education to study Law at Bangor University and subsequently graduated with a first class degree. I was awarded the Sir Samuel Evans Award as one of the highest graduates in Wales for 2023.I enjoyed my modules, ranging from Criminal, Commercial, and Intellectual Property Law. I especially enjoyed my dissertation which studied legal responsibility for brain trauma within sports.It was great to be a part of Bangor University and have the opportunity to develop my future employment prospects. I was the Master of the Moot for the Legal Advocacy Society and thoroughly enjoyed drafting the scenarios for the internal competitions and then judging the advocates throughout the moots.

I assisted with research surrounding access to justice in North Wales and the potential for developing a clinical legal education provision within the law School. My role had two aspects. The first required engaging with law firms in the counties of North Wales for their opinion on pro bono work and the demand for offering pro bono work in North Wales. The second aspect was researching legal careers and pathways for students. The project won the Access to Justice Foundation Award as part of the Law Works and Attorney General Student Pro Bono Awards.

In my role at Zip World I represented the company to ensure visitors fully enjoy their zip-wire adventure. This involved working in all weather conditions to brief visitors of all ages and physical capabilities about the experience; kitting and de-kitting guests; maintaining equipment to high standards; as well as physical instruction. I also drove the transport vehicles, co-ordinating movement of visitors and ensuring the smooth flow of equipment and staff around site.

I shadowed an experienced financial planner learning how to plan for clients’ futures and was deeply involved in the preparation for client reviews and assisting in the follow up of all meetings. I was involved in the development of Mathews Comforts technology and planning with the use of NextGen and other resources. I assisted the financial advisers at Mathews Comfort with their pensions, investments, and protection technical support and administration. I also mentored junior staff members with their studies with the Chartered Insurance Institute.

Advies Private Clients are an independent financial adviser, specializing in high-net worth clients. I assisted five mortgage advisers, providing administration and compliance support whilst also managing two other administrator’s. I was the dedicated contact for all mortgage clients at Advies and was responsible for ensuring applications were processed quickly and efficiently.

I maintained a commercial property portfolio valued at approximately £1 billion and received specialist training on general practitioner finance.
