Program Manager
CurrentWorking part-time for the City of Napa Recreation Division over the last three years, I have come to fill many roles within the organization. Currently, I am an essential member of the recreation leadership team that runs and develops all of the functions of a summer youth leadership program for ages 12–15. During my time at the City of Napa, I have been a camp counselor, a camp manager that oversees nearly 20 staff and 60 5-to-12-year-old program participants, a facility attendant for a local recreation building, a program developer of a youth program, as well as the manager of this program. As a member of the leadership team, I have also conducted interviews and carried out the hiring of staff. Some of my accomplishments as a program manager include organizing, creating, and pioneering a very unique youth summer leadership program. For this program, I have coordinated special events with City Hall and the mayor of Napa, provided education about college and careers through a partnership with Napa Valley College, put together volunteer opportunities for the youth at locations such as our city’s senior center, and prepared the participants for future employment at the City of Napa. Along with the development and coordination of the program, I also currently teach and run the daily functions of the program, including managing the staff, developing a very in-depth curriculum including a 50-page program manual, allocating program supplies, scheduling, and working with the kids one-on-one. I am currently working part-time to expand the summer leadership program into the fall, winter, and spring.
